Electronics Development Engineer

We’re seeking a talented and experienced Electronics Development Engineer to join our ambitious and collaborative R&D team!
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing low-power, high-reliability electronic for use in demanding environments.
Depending on the size and complexity of the project, development will be done in-house or in close cooperation with consultants and suppliers both in Norway and internationally.
You will take part in the full development lifecycle—from concept and design to implementation, verification, and deployment.
This role offers significant influence on the development process, including helping to shape the future of electronics development within our organization. You will work closely with the Product Line Manager Electronics (PLM-E) and the wider engineering team to build a modern, robust electronics development environment.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Own the current generation electronics, ensuring qualification, documentation, and manufacturing meet relevant industry standards (e.g., CE, API 19E, IPC-A-610J).
- Lead the design and development of new electronic hardware, from concept through to production and testing.
- Contribute to establishing a new in-house electronics lab for efficient prototyping and testing.
- Define and document technical requirements and functional specifications together with PLM-E.
- Work collaboratively with software, mechanical, and systems engineers, as well as operations and product teams.
- Participate in reviews and validation processes to ensure reliability and compliance.
- Occasional travel to suppliers and partners in Norway and abroad.
What we are looking for
- M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in electronics development, ideally in defense, aviation, automotive, telecom, or oil & gas.
- Strong background in low-power design and/or high-temperature electronics is highly advantageous.
- Solid understanding of relevant standards and regulatory requirements.
- Experience with PCB design tools (e.g., Altium Designer, OrCAD, KiCAD) and good documentation practices.
- Innovative, structured, and hands-on attitude with a collaborative mindset.
- Fluent in Norwegian and English, both spoken and written.
